Usually faux fabrics do not require heavy maintenance and can be easily washed at home using regular detergent. Similarly blended fabrics such as blend of cotton and silk also have simpler maintenance rules and can be easily maintained using high quality mild detergents at home. In case of pure cotton or pure silk sarees you will need to follow a set of procedure for washing, drying, ironing and storing the sarees. To maintain luster and color of silk saree you have to protect it from sunlight and extreme temperatures at the time of washing, drying and ironing.
